I'm sorry Tawmis. Having known this particular plot point for months, I didn't realize it could be such a major surprise to someone.

Anyway, the BioWare official trailer is almost entirely spoiler free and the GiantBomb video is more focused on gameplay than story, even if it shows a portion of the game.

Not a big deal, at all about that particular thing. I don't even visit the Bioware Social Site... I was less than impressed with the general feel and population mentality of folks on that forum (unlike the original Bioware forums, which I actually enjoyed!)... so I am completely in the dark about any spoilers mentioned there about the game. To me, I know I am going to get Dragon Age II, based on the fact that it's from BIOWARE who has not yet disappointed me (too much) in terms of games... so going in clueless about what's going to happen and being surprised by any little thing is a pleasure.

After an initial play through any game, I don't mind looking up spoilers that I might have missed, to just go back and pick them up and see them, a second time through.

Then you do the right thing by staying away from the Social Site.

Many developers post there, David Gaider (the Lead Writer of the Dragon Age franchise) in primis, and while they are usuaylly tight-lipped, sometimes they do reveal some details about the game, the characters and the general plot.

I will try my best to avoid any major spoiler in the future. Or at least I will clearly state when something is to be considered major.

 Honestly, by all means, don't stop posting spoilers! If it's Highlighted with the SPOILER tag, I get whatever's coming to me by going in and highlighting and reading it. I do not blame you at all. That was ENTIRELY my fault.

Well, but there's indeed a difference between saying Varric is a companion and Varric is a darkspawn agent in disguise :D

 Yes. There is a slight difference! But I think it's great that news about Dragon Age is posted here!

It's great seeing such interest in a game again (and company, really) after being devoid of a trust worthy company that produces good to great games time and time again.

And because of the postings here, we have gotten other folks who might not have tried any Bioware games (including Dragon Age!)

You and me both... I am even considering getting the Dragon Age DLC for Origins that I never picked up... just to sedate myself.

Witch Hunt is a must play, in my opinion, and BioWare assured that you can import a WH save into DA2.

Unlike RTO, which did NOT import into Awakenings...

Well, RtO was a DLC intertwined with the main game, so, even if you completed RtO after finishing the main campaign (via the Post-Campaign save), you should have been able to import that save into Awakening. I'm pretty sure I did...

I can tell you right now, the King's armor does not import over.

EDIT: Quick search reveals I even posted about it previously.

Ah yes, yes! I remember that many players were bother by the impossibility to import King Cailan's armour. I, however, never had any problem importing it and, as such, I don't have a clue about what might have caused the bug.

Yeah, there's nothing like starting the game IN YOUR UNDERWEAR with Darkspawn flocking around you...!

Made showing off my Mage's Staff a whole new meaning...

Good to know. Now I can make sure you don't find out about the incestuous encounters between the main character and his siblings. It doesn't happen until later in the game, but it's interesting that one potential romance option is your own brother or sister.

No, this doesn't happen, which probably upset some people on the BioWare boards, but screw them.
