But are they working on a fix? I should hope so!

While it's true that, even with DX9, the game is more... refined than DA:O, there's no way a dual core should be absolutely necessary to play. The engine is not that massive.

They know the problem exists (they've replicated it) so they made a statement on the BioWare Social site about working a solution to fix it.

You like BURNOUT? You do have SOME redeeming qualities then!

Kidding. We know you don't have any redeeming qualities!

Kidding again!

Seriously though - I was unaware you enjoyed BURNOUT! Words can not say how much I love that game. Ironically Burnout 2 (the first one I played) is still one of my favorites of the entire series. (Although they came up with some very cool new mechanics as the game progressed!)

I'll never forget what my brother said while we were playing Burnout 3: "I follow people, kill them and take their place."

Outside the game's context, his comment takes on a very different meaning. :P

I just learned that warriors can't dual-wield in this game. It just keeps going more and more downhill. This is probably the most disappointing discovery so far for me.

The idea is that Rogues have dual-weapon and archery and Warriors have weapon-and-shield and two-handed weapons. BioWare did this because the weapon skills were too similar between a Rogue and Warrior in DA:O.

There really isn't a Rogue anymore -- he's a dexterity based fighter. BioWare removed stealth and disarming traps (two staples of the Rogue class) and decided to keep the lockpicking skill.

So if you want to use dual-weapons, you might as well play a Rogue. You'll have virtually the same experience.

Did they remove DISABLE TRAPS too? Because I noticed when doing one of the missions, the Rogue in the party (an NPC, I won't make names to prevent spoilers) actually said, "You might want to watch yourself if you go through that door."

I was already moving too quickly when he said it; and there was an explosive (fire) trap in the doorway that got us all.

So I imagine if the Rogue NPC can see it, there must be a way to disarm it too, or else you're forced to take damage going through the door. I was just moving too fast at the time to be able to switch to the Rogue NPC to see if he could disarm it.

I think Rogues can disarm traps, but like lockpicking, it's an automatic skill based on your cunning.

It's too bad every skill in DA2 revolves around combat. It would've been nice to do something other than fight.

This is interesting. It seems that DA2 uses SecuROM, even though both EA and BioWare originally claimed otherwise. No mention of SecuROM is in the EULA or anywhere on the box.

SecuROM is used on the DVD version of DA2. The Steam version and the 360/PS3 don't have it.

The full story is disclosed here and here.

I don't have the PC version; but what's the deal with SecuROM?
EDIT: Just googled.
Found this Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SecuROM

Interestingly enough the wiki mentions:

In 2008, a class-action lawsuit was filed against Electronic Arts for its use of SecuROM in the video game Spore.

Did you know MASS EFFECT for the PC has it?

Mass Effect

In May 2008, EA announced that Mass Effect for the PC would be using SecuROM 7.x requiring a reactivation of the software every 10 days.[13] Due to complaints, EA removed the 10-day activation while keeping SecuROM tied to the installation. SecuROM's product activation facility was still used to impose a limit of three times that a customer is allowed to activate the copy of Mass Effect once purchased. The game becomes unplayable "as is" after the activations are used up, until EA's customer support is contacted to reset the activation limit. Unlike BioShock, uninstalling the game does not refund a previously used activation.[14] More recent versions of Mass Effect on budget prices (those available on EA classics and Steam) have SecuROM omitted.

Reading up. I seriously hope EA/Bioware find another class action suite against them. And I hope they get their asses nailed to the wall for this.

Rogues are restricted to daggers, though. And I'm sure they're restricted to light armor, too. It's just not the same. It's starting to turn into early D&D rules where certain classes are restricted from using certain items instead of being versatile.

Um... Rogues aren't restricted to daggers. In DA:O it was possible to dual-wield longswords and they can wear any armor they want. Most Rogues wear light-to-medium armor because they don't pump up their strength stat.

There are no armor restrictions for any class. You could have a Mage wear massive armor, but to do so, you'd have to seriously underpower his magic.
